Legal Disclaimer

Legal disclaimer

Accident Law Guide publishes general information about United States law. It is not legal advice, and reading it does not create an attorney-client relationship with anyone.

Not a law firm

The site is written by a non-lawyer. It does not represent clients, review cases, refer cases to attorneys or receive payment from law firms.

Laws change and have exceptions

Statutes of limitations, fault rules and fee rules differ from state to state and are amended. Each guide shows the date it was last checked, but a law may have changed since. Most rules also have exceptions, for example for minors, claims against government bodies, medical malpractice and wrongful death, that a general guide cannot cover in full.

Before you rely on a deadline or rule, read the current statute linked on the page or ask a licensed attorney in your state. If a deadline is close, don’t wait.

Links to other sites

Guides link to legislature sites, government agencies and legal libraries. Those sites are not controlled by this one, and their content can change.
